We have been reading short stories and creating a "winter" piece of writing that is on display and should come home early next week. Students read about Snowflake Bentley, who created a way to document snowflakes, and then students made their own.
Please check over the gradebook. If a "0" is listed, that activity has not reached me yet. If an assignment is blank, it has not been graded yet or collected, depending on the due date. Please remind your student to check through the LA binder for activities, and also remind them to keep the binder organized by section. Sometimes a student has completed the work but did not bring it to class to turn in.
If your child has been absent, please refer to the LA blog (to the right of this message) for those days of class, which is listed at the bottom of this email. Students are welcome to ask me questions during lunch about activities they may have missed. It is best if you request work for your child while absent so that there is not so much make-up stress upon their return.
Thanks so much for your support. The weather is cold, but our classes are full of energetic young minds. Please feel free to email me any comments or concerns.
